We’re happy to announce the launch of one of our network websites, Superior Wallpapers. Please find the welcome message from SW below.
I’d like to welcome you to a new Digital Meld website called Superior Wallpapers. Like most people these days we are huge fans of widescreen displays, and as fans of these displays we find it more difficult by the day to find high quality background images for our shiny new displays.
Far too often when we visit popular desktop wallpaper websites we are inundated with a horrible user experience thanks to bad design, intrusive ads, spyware attempts, low quality images and limited resolutions. It is our goal here at SW to provide our visitors with a Superior Wallpaper finding experience.
You won’t find grainy quality, skewed proportions or a lack of resolution choices here. We offer our visitors eight widescreen resolutions for devices of all sizes. Our team of wallpaper maniacs scour the web for hours daily looking for only the most fascinating and intriguing images on the web, so you don’t have to.
Our goal is to add at least one wallpaper per week day, but you’ll find on most days we far surpass that target. We also provide a way for our faithful users to submit their own wallpapers for consideration, just don’t get your feelings hurt if we don’t publish it… because again, we are picky!
Now to the good stuff. We give you various ways of browsing our beautiful wallpapers, including the category navigation menu above, the archives pages (also in the menu above), tags, keyword search or good old fashion browsing. We are continuing to evolve the site daily, so check back often!
Here are some features we will be adding:
- Popular Wallpapers
- Similar Wallpapers
- Latest Comments
- Most Comments
- Most Shared
- Memberships (no ads) + .ZIP downloads
- … and more!
Thanks again for giving us a shot, we hope you stick around and tell all your friends about us. Oh, and don’t forget to follow us on twitter where we post a link to every new wallpaper!
Look for more Digital Meld Network sites to be added in the coming weeks as we have four other sites we are working on!

From BradGroux.com:
Leo Laporte, Kevin Rose, Clayton Morris and John C. Dvorak just changed the online life for a new Twitter user; one Lisa Etheridge aka LisaTickledPink from Auckland, New Zealand. Moments ago in their live broadcast of the This Week in Tech video podcast the guys were discussing Conan O’brien’s choice for his first Twitter follower on his account and said “hey, we can do that!” So they discussed randomly choosing a Twitter user with only three friends to see if they could beat Sarah Killen aka LovelyButton.
Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.com who has 1.1 million followers himself randomly found Lisa by doing a search for “I hate technology.”
TWiT is one of the most popular video podcasts on the planet (and one I watch live every Sunday night if possible), and next week Leo and crew are going to randomly pull one name from Lisa’s followers and send them a free iPad. They are also going to try and send an iPad to Lisa for the trouble they may have caused her. When they put the plan in motion they didn’t take into consideration that Lisa’s poor email box or text message inbox may be full of “You have a new follower” emails and texts from Twitter.
This will be an interesting and fun story to watch for the next week, as I’m guessing Coco’s army may not want to lose to a bunch of geeks. Together, the guys on this week’s TWiT have about 1.3 million followers combined, so who knows how many followers Lisa will end up with. One thing is for certain, she’s going to have a rude awakening in the morning seeing as it is the middle of the night in New Zealand. In about 20 minutes from the initial call for action Lisa’s gone from 3 followers to 2,118 as of this writing.
I love the interwebs.

Technology in 2008 has brought about revolutionary change in how we interact with our world and each other. True integration of technology with the root of our lives is finally something that the average Joe can afford and most importantly understand. Bill Gates has long spoken about the complete integration of technology into our everyday lives and how all of our great technology needs to communicate to make it truly worthwhile… for this, Bill and his gang in Redmond use the term convergence.
Microsoft has built the last ten years of their business on that word. The idea of convergence is simple; you take your everyday gadgets and gizmos and make them work together… full integration in every sense of the word. Think about your computers, notebooks, gaming systems, cell phones and websites and how they work together today. Ten years ago those were all platforms that had nothing to do with one another, now they can all communicate to make your life easier and more enjoyable.
While digital convergence (or Digital Meld as we like to call it) is in its infancy that doesn’t mean it should only be left to the experts. With the cost of technology continually plummeting and the ease and use of the new products hitting the market, there’s no reason that the technologically inept can’t take part in this amazing new world. We’ll cover low skill and low budget to high skill and high budget and everything in between… a technological-cornucopia of information and understanding.
Our goal at Digital Meld is to help keep you up to date with the latest technology and trends all while helping you to better understand and use that technology in your everyday life. Think of us as a convergence of your basic technology blog covering the latest news and gadgets while also providing how-to guides to help you put that technology to work for you. With your help we can make this a community that can provide a real service to the gadget users of the world. We’re looking forward to what the future has in store… and now that future includes you!
